Keelan's radiant red eyes were an accident; it wasn't what he had in mind. His sudden mood changes and moments deranged behavior are unintentional; he never meant to scare anyone. All he wanted was to be like everyone else again.
The Mono Chromes took it. A dirty move. He was just a child, just beginning to learn all the great things that came with his acceptance of the Crimson Chroma. A group of the colorless Chromas cornered him, and stripped him of it all. Keelan returned to his brothers and sisters, mother and fathers, with dull eyes. They pitied him, but there was no way to gift him with color again, not a safe way that is. Keelan begged them, got on his knees and begged for there to be a way. They refused only because of his human blood. It would make the transfer too dangerous; they knew what how it affected humans when they made direct contact with the source.
Though Keelan could no longer obtain a color chroma naturally, the family allowed the young boy to stay with them. Clipped wings or not, they did not abandon their bloodkin. If he had been a Tertiary, the story would have been different.
Through his years of looming the halls of the ancient chapel, he yearned for the secret knowledge of the cure, knowing there was one - he just had to find it. The vaults. It took him weeks to figure out how to break into the seemly unbreakable vaults, but broken Keelan had all the time in the world. He was simply an extra in the background, a shadow of the rest. But not for long.
He was not the same after entering the vault. The Primary's had to drag him away from the massive vault; a screaming, hysterical, enraged boy returned. His eyes were so bright, they actually glowed. He saw red. His new eyes took over him so that he was a Crimson from the core. He was given a short fuse, but great power. His movements are just as sporadic as his mood swings. Though his senses have heightened, it's when he snaps and becomes inflamed that they lessen, and he's careless, losing the precision. The problem with this? Nearly everything triggers him, and the smallest things can cause him to snap. Because of Keelan's excessively vibrant red eyes, he is forced to wear dark shades or goggles to conceal their glow. Even within the Red's territory, it will stand out to civilians as being above the norm.

Lionel, more often called Lio, like the lion, is usually called a very pretty girl, but there is something eerie about her that makes people not really want to call her beautiful. Maybe its the blood red eyes and the icy, frosted skin, or the whole composition that is her appearance. She has an emotionless, void, poker face that is flawless of all markings, blemishes, and expressions. She stares with a dead look in those frightfully bloody eyes, and if you look away from her then back again, she has moved across the room. It's rather frightening, like something from a horror where if you look away long enough, she'll attack you. She just does not like staying in one place too long. If she notices someone noticing her, she will always stay on a sort of prowl, watching them, waiting, looking at them at every possible angle. She is very careful about people, and treats them all like prey for her to stalk. Lio can never be left alone for too long. She tends to wander a lot, always with this desire to keep on going and doing until someone tells her to stop. She is weak in that way. With no self-motivation or purpose, she seeks powerful figures to fulfill that need, usually Primaries or other Secondaries. She can become rather obsessed with them, but proves to be a great help despite. She isn't clingy or weird, not really. She lets them have their space and avoids being a moon to their planet, but she just likes to be within range where she can see and hear them, know where they are, know if they are in danger or need help. A lot of the others treat her as a sort of bodyguard, a task she takes to very well. It just suits her naturally, so why not assign it a title? She is very loyal and very trustworthy. She would never spill a secret, even at the cost of her own life. And so she has been trusted with quite a few deep and dark ones, as well as secretive, dangerous tasks. Though many seem to call her unnatural, it is her unnatural state that makes her such a unique and useful individual, even if she cannot see it herself. Only the Crimsons who have spent enough time with her ever know her as such. Anyone who doesn't know her just takes her at face value and suggest throwing her in a padded room. What do they really know? They know she tends to talk with lots of big words and kind of this weird mixing of the english language. She can't communicate well at all or really comprehend certain social graces. But it's not truly her fault that she has such issues. She was heavily experimented on when she was younger, so she's not right in the head. The facility was eventually bombed by a so-called terrorist. In truth, it was someone who had lost a lover to the horrible experiments. Without anyone to help him save her, he had bombed the place itself. Lionel was one of the survivors, physically, but mentally, she was still unstable. She wandered a long time, till she met the Crimsons. They recognized her as one of them that they had lost years ago, even if she herself could not remember.
